Richard Wong, DVM, DACVS-SA
Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon
Dr. Wong is a California native who went to UCLA for undergraduate studies and Western University College of Veterinary Medicine for his DVM. After graduating from veterinary school in 2010, he pursued a competitive internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. His success in this internship led to his selection for a Small Animal Surgery Residency at a busy private practice, Animal Specialty Group in Los, Angeles CA (2011-2014). During that time he performed research in canine non-traumatic hemoabdomen and published his research in Veterinary Surgery and Pulse.
After completion of his residency, Dr. Wong became a staff surgeon at Wachusett Animal Hospital in Westminster, MA, where he developed the surgery department. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons during his time there. His professional interests lie in both orthopedics and oncologic surgery. He is excited to join Animal Emergency and Specialty Center and looks forward to exploring the south.
